Letting garbage and recyclables accumulate indoors is common among the disabled; they may not feel up to a trip to the curb, or perhaps they put it off because of the weather. When next week rolls around, they may put it off because there is too much to carry in one day. Before you know it, mobility is restricted, fire hazards are created, rodents and other pests are attracted, and germs are allowed to multiply.
Soiled linen and laundry accumulate quickly when you don’t have the strength to stay on top of the job. Procrastination becomes the norm, and a task that was too big last week gets out of hand in no time. Proper care of linens is especially important for the disabled, who are likely to have compromised skin or bed sores, and are prone to infection.
Customized Janitorial established this program after witnessing first-hand the substandard environments that seniors & people with disabilities, in our communities, were living in. These people truly needed housekeeping services and were seeking a way to reduce their current struggles.
Unfortunately, as often as we see these circumstances, we find that these people were not financially secure. We were determined to come up with a plan to ensure that the neediest members of our community would not need to go without basic housekeeping services.
C J Cares was established to help these people, in our community, at no cost to them. Customized Janitorial donates a portion of sales to fund the program, accepts donations and hosts fundraising events.
